This is for you if

It doesn't have to be all of them. One is enough.

  • You were diagnosed recently and still aren't sure what to measure, or when
  • You're testing, but the numbers live across notes, a spreadsheet and your memory
  • You've missed the one-hour mark more than once, and felt bad about it
  • You have an appointment coming up and want to arrive with something organized
  • You don't want another nagging app, just one that handles the tedious part

If any of that sounds familiar, that's exactly what Metuka does.

How it works

Three steps, a few seconds a day

Result entry screen in Metuka - 95, in range
1

Tap "I started eating"

Metuka counts down the minutes for you, so you don't have to remember.

2

Get reminded right on time

A notification arrives exactly when it's time to test, even if your screen is off.

3

Log your result

Instant color feedback tells you if you're in range - no calculating, no guessing.

So you remember exactly what you ate, without guessing later.

I'm Pessi, and Metuka was born out of my fifth pregnancy. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in my first pregnancy too, and tracked everything myself, on paper. This time I wanted a tool to do it for me - so I built one. Now it's here for you.

I'm a developer, not a doctor - Metuka is a tracking tool, not a substitute for medical advice.

Questions that keep coming up

What people ask me most before downloading

Is it really free?
The download is free and there are no ads. Daily tracking is unlimited: the timer, the reminders, the readings and the color feedback. The report and history show the last two weeks, and a one-time upgrade opens up your whole pregnancy.
Where is my data stored?
In your account, and only you can see it. Metuka doesn't sell data and doesn't run ads or third-party tracking. You can delete your account and your data at any moment, right from the app. Full details in the privacy policy.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. You can enter a reading offline, it's saved on the device and syncs on its own once you're back online. Reminders run locally and don't depend on the network.
I'm on insulin. Is this still for me?
Yes. You can log insulin doses alongside your readings, and they appear in the report. If you're not on insulin, you can switch it off in settings and the button simply disappears.
Is the report actually useful for whoever's caring for me?
The report is a clean PDF with your readings table, the share of readings in range, and a trend graph. You can send it by email or messaging app to your doctor, midwife or dietitian, without copying numbers by hand.
I'm already at week 32. Is it worth starting now?
Yes. Even a few weeks of consistent tracking give you a picture that's hard to reconstruct from memory, and these are usually the weeks when monitoring tightens. Setup is short: targets come pre-filled with commonly used values, and you can adjust them in settings.
How is this different from a spreadsheet?
In a spreadsheet you remember to test, work out whether you're in range, and build the report yourself. Metuka counts the time from your first bite, alerts you when it's time to test, colors the result against your target, and builds the report in one tap.
